Okay, the time has come, few followers of mine. (Can I call you minions yet? Please?)
I'm sure I've mentioned it too much, but I've been working on a book about Future Husband and I, and our crazy, teenage, young-and-stupid stumble towards wedded bliss. I didn't know it was leading to wedding bells, mind you, when I started working on the book. But ta da! It is.
I titled that book quite a while ago, and since I am still young enough at heart to not-so-secretly crave Rock Star status authorhood once I'm published, I've also titled the two subsequent books in the trilogy. Thanks, Jane Austen, for always writing your books in three acts. Now I do it, to.
Only a few months after we got together, I decided that I wanted to write a fourth book. Maybe not part of the 'trilogy' per se, but a book that could stand alone or be read in sequence. The title, which was amazing, ifIdosaysomyself, came to me almost instantly. So I've been sitting on it for about a year and a half, much longer than I've had this blog.
Honestly, I probably should have given the blog that title from the get go, but I didn't want anyone to come along and steal it before I can use it.
But the other day, as I was talking to Future Husband about it (because I'd mentioned it to my cousin Jinxie and she loved it) I said, "I'd love to rename my blog, but I want to use it for a book, later on down the road."
He asked (he's always so good at helping me see the things I overlook), "Why can't it be both?"
And I paused for a moment, but couldn't think of a good reason. So voila! Some time in the next few days I'll be changing the name of my blog. The address will stay the same, so no need to worry. Just keep an eye out in your 'Blogs I Follow' section.

25 years ago today, Marty McFly went to a parking lot to meet with Doc Brown. The rest, as they say is history.
Also, in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, my mom squeezed me out.
I know I haven't been blogging much lately. Tour puts a damper on my productivity (malnutrition, tiredness, lack of reliable internet connection), and now that I'm home I've been distracted with things like looking for work, working, and household chores. And Breaking Bad. Seriously, Boyfriend and I have put away almost three seasons since October 8th. That's a lot of sitting in front of a boob tube.
I don't think I'll draw any cute cartoons today, as I just want to put a blog up so you all know I haven't mysteriously disappeared. Also, it's my birthday. My 25th freaking birthday. It seems like a blog worthy day.
Birthdays have never made me feel any different. As a child, I always expected some sort of magical transformation over night, or at the very least, for the day to feel unusual. Like Christmas. There's this sort of stillness in the air on Christmas. I always expect my birthday to feel that way, but it doesn't.
This birthday makes me want to better myself, though. Like it's a chance for New Years-esque resolutions. Like I'm really starting my adult life now, with a nice, round, halfway to 50 age.
But here are my Quarter Life resolutions:
-Write EVERY day. 1,000 words on a novel would be nice, but that's not realistic. A paragraph or two, or a blog, or even just jotting down ideas of stories and novels... hell, even fan fiction, is better than not writing at all.
-Eat better. I've been doing a good job of it since tour, but I've had entirely too much fast food and too many restaurant outings this year. I don't feel good. Good food makes you feel good.
-Be smarter with money. Just because I have money sitting in my bank account, doesn't mean I have to spend it.
-Practice music more. I miss playing and writing and singing. It's an amazing way to express myself, and I miss getting lost in it.
I can't really think of anything else. I mean, I've got a great guy by my side, a wonderful family, and friends that actually care about me. The outlook from here is pretty swell. Honestly, I couldn't ask for more. Well, maybe a book deal or to win the lottery, but as far as practicality goes... this is Happily Ever After, and I'm lucky enough to have found it this young.

In yesterday's blog I briefly referenced some of the things I want to do before I leave Tulsa and my little family bubble. I started brainstorming these things during my most recent two week stint in Seattle, but didn't start one of my infamous lists.
So I'll do that now.
Artsy things I want to do:
-Learn a few songs on my new ukulele. Because, duh, that's what all the cool kids are doing. And I'm, like, totally cool. For sure.
-Sing some of my original songs in public. I'm thinking... coffee house open mic. Cause nothing pairs better with shaky stage fright than three shots of espresso.
-Play my guitar as much as possible. I probably won't be around one for a few weeks while I'm on tour, cause Lead Singer Boy is a lefty. Damn and blast!
-Start posting youtube videos? It's always something I wanted to do, I just haven't checked it off my to-do list yet. Perhaps I can get a friend to record me at open mic night...
-Write 10,000 words on my novel. It's not impossible. I've got twenty days left. That's only 500 words a day. I've written more than that on Facebook, other blogs and blog comments in the last 6 hours. That's completely attainable.
-Most importantly, not skip out on posting a blog every day. Seriously. I need to get back into my blogging habit. I used to be good at this. I wish I could make all of my myspace blogs available for public viewing. I think only about 40% of them are viewable to more than the dozen or so people my preferred list. And I need to be bloggably limber again in time for tour, as I'm pretty sure some hilarious shenanigans will transpire. If blogging was a form of athleticism, I'm as out of shape as a fat man on Tuesday night. Which brings me to...
Food things I want before I move away from my plump parents:
(This will surely be amended.)
-Chicken Enchilada casserole. Oh cheesey, saucy goodness.
-Corn Chowder. It has bacon in it. Come on.
-Apples, Onions and Sausage. Sounds strange, but is oh-so awesome. Also, a good heaping plate of it's cousin, Zucchini, Tomatoes and Onions.
-Stuffed Mushrooms. I don't even like mushrooms, but I like these.
-The Better Than Sex cake. It may not be better than sex, but it sure comes close.
-Cold Tuna Salad. Contrary to Food Network's opinion, this can be tasty if done right.
-Homemade Mac n' Cheese. Cheesey goodness is apparently my heart's true desire.
-More gravy! Because in my world, it IS a beverage.
Social things I want to do:
-Neapolitan! With a side of awesomesauce.
-Bar hopping and hungover brunches with the girls from work. Does this need elaboration?
-Moonlight Nights with Josh. Mick St. James + garlic toast = Vamptastic!
-Quality Harper time. I'll probably have to block out at least eight hours for this. At the very least.
-Aaaand pretty much every following sentence on this list would have the noun 'Abbi' as the object, so I'll just say, I wanna do Abbi. Don't even pretend to be surprised.
So I'll do that now.
